Happy New Year to all my followers

This is just a quick post to wish all my followers a very Happy New Year and i hope that 2014 brings you everything you want.

I have had an amazing year and i have so many plans for 2014 that i can't wait to share with you all.

This blog, although only 2 months old has really brought me out of my shell and i have loved every minute of it. Things can only get better from now on.

I hope you all have a brilliant night doing whatever you're doing.

See you all next year!

What i'm hoping for in 2014

Hey!

I've seen this post on a few blogs over the last couple of days and i actually had an idea to do one myself before i realised how popular it is. I have put together a list of all things i am hoping for in 2014 and by the end of the year, i will bring the list back up and do a new post where i have crossed them all off ( hopefully ). So what am i hoping for next year?...

1. A baby

I make absolutely no bones about this because it has been my wish for so long now to give Sarah a little brother or sister. I've never been more ready to become a mum again and thankfully, Carl is just as determined to become a dad in 2014. A baby would complete our family ( for now anyway ). I would love nothing more than to have a little boy and give Carl a son. Out of all the things on this list, i really hope that this is the one i get to cross off.

2. Matching tattoos

Believe me i know the madness and cliche behind matching tattoos but this is something me and Carl have both talked about and it's definitely on the cards. We have ideas about what we want but we want it to be unique to us.

3. Leave my job

My job is bloody difficult and can be incredibly boring at times. This isn't the job i want to be in for the rest of my life and i hope that once i get my name out into the world, i will be able to leave MITIE and start working from home with my own business. Completing this in a year might be tricky but i'll give it a bloody good go.

4. Carl becoming the next best thing in fishing

This is quite a bold statement and a pretty big achievement but i have every faith in him taking his fishing career to new heights. I'm hoping that he manages to get some sponsorships from some of the big names in fishing and kickstart his blog and YouTube channel.

5. Lose weight

As much as i want to say that i am happy with my body, i'm not. It's time i took some control over my life and went back to 10 stone. Luckily i have a boyfriend who loves me regardless and i love him for that but i'm sick of not being able to wear nice clothes and my hips sticking out a mile on either side of me. Time to put my foot down and get healthy.

6. Sarah having a smooth transition into secondary school

Saz starts year 7 in September and it's a scary time no matter how confident you are. I really hope that she settles in well and strives to be the best she can be in her studies.

7. Another niece of nephew

This goes for my side aswell as Carl's. My sister has 2 boys and she doesn't want anymore but i know that my brother and his wife want more so i'm hoping they can help me out in crossing this one off. Or for that matter, Carl's sisters having more? Either way i hope this won't still be on the list by the end of 2014.

8. Making my first Youtube video

Oh god i am putting this one off because even though i'm a confident person when i have come out of my shell, my initial phase is to clam up and hide. This is a massive priority for me next year and i will find the courage to do it one way or another.

9. Mums health improving

My mum hasn't been well towards the end of this year and because of it she is now on medication. I really hope that next year there will be no more health problems, stays in hospital or additional medication. A clean bill of health would be perfect

10. Carl popping the question

Haha i know that he will read this and it is a bit of a joke. We both know we want to marry each other but fortunately, Carl is not the type to do a proposal on a specific day like valentines or Christmas so it could come anytime but he knows how much i love him and that i want to spend my life with him so this last thing on my list is the only one i can't cross off...only he can.

Review of 2013

I can't believe 2014 is just around the corner. Where has this year gone?! It's been pretty eventful for me and my family with plenty of good and bad times but i want to share every little bit of it with the world and look back on it in years to come.

January

My works Christmas party. At the time i used to work in a hotel ( one of the worst jobs i've ever had ) and i wasn't really that excited to have a Christmas do with the people i worked with but all in all it was pretty eventful. It was the first night out me and Carl had as a couple and we made it good. Only downer was Carl got absolutely blasted and was throwing up for the majority of the night.

The other event in January was Carl becoming an uncle for the 3rd time when his sister Sam gave birth to a beautiful little girl called Grace.

February

This month, i became an auntie for the 3rd time when my sister in law gave birth to my beautiful little nephew Flint. I of course have Sarah and my sister has 2 little boys so my brother and his wife having a baby was a long time coming for our family. Me, mum, Carl and Sarah went down to Cambridge to see then all and i absolutely fell in love with him. He was perfect in every way and i was uber proud of my brother and sis in law for doing a good job ( so to speak ).

It was also valentines over the weekend we were there so me and Carl went out for a really nice meal and stayed in a local hotel, it was really nice to have some alone time while mum and Sarah stayed with my brother.

March

My god this month was difficult for me. Firstly Carl went on holiday with his family for a week. I fell in love with Carl the moment i saw him and the thought of being apart from him destroyed me. These photos were taken on the day he was going away and when i had to leave his house, i drove down the road and had to pull over and cry my heart out. Sad? Maybe but i was truely head over heels in love with him, still am and facing a whole week without him was scary. When he was coming home, i parked my car outside his house waiting for him to show up and honestly when he did, it was like a scene out of a romance novel lol. We ran to each other and he grabbed me and hugged me so hard it was just amazing. I later found out that through the whole week, he had been missing me just as much as i had him. We promised to never be apart from each other for as long as that ever again because it was just too hard on us, it also made us realise how much we love each other.

Carl ended up in hospital towards the back end of March. He was vomiting alot and complaining of chest pains so i knew i had to take him to hospital. We ended up being in there for hours before being told he may have a blod clot in his lungs. As you can imagine this really scared us both and he could do nothing but have tests done and wait. Eventually after 10 hours, we were told that all the pains were eminating from his vomiting and basically his gag reflex had pulled a chest muscle. We laughed about it afterwards but at the time, i was so worried for him. With us being at hospital for 10 hours and not getting home until 8am the next day, we slept like babies.

April

It was my mums birthday, but apart from that we had quite a boring April overall

May

On the 19th May, Sarah turned 10. I can't believe my little girl is 10 years old, she's grown up so quickly. We wanted to make it special for her so me and Carl took her to Alton Towers for a day at Splash Landings, an overnight stay in the hotel and then the park the next day. We all had an amazing time and it will be a birthday to remember.

I also left my god awful job at Hallmark Hotel this month and i have never felt more relieved to see the back of the place than i did on 23rd of May. I have absolutely no regrets in handing my notice in, i was miserable everyday i worked there, i didn't really get on with anyone because they were all stuck up bastards and driving away from the place was like driving away from the gates of hell. Relief!

We also bought 2 rabbits this month. Shadow ( Black ) and Flapjack. We absolutely loved them and Sarah was in her element. Unfortunately, i discovered not long after we got them that Flapjack wasn't well and took her to the vet. She was very ill and was kept in overnight, she died while she was there. We were gutted. A couple of days later, i woke to find that Shadow had died at some point during the night too. After taking her to the vet ( in the shop we got them from ), we discovered that thankfully it was nothing we had done but they had got the rabbits from a new breeder and they believed they had contracted some kind of virus from infected rabbits and had not been immunised against common rabbit diseases. An investigation was made into what happened and we were offered a full refund and replacement rabbits. We refused the rabbits because it was too traumatic for us to have any more after what had happened. We were so upset but we hope that something like this never happens again and proper breeders are used in the future.

One of the massive things to happen in May was Carl moving into my house. He had his own house but moving in with me seemed the right thing to do because apart from it making financial sense, we couldn't bare to be apart from each other. It was a really big step in our relationship and i have no regrets at all.

June

Another eventful month as it was mine and Carl's Birthdays. His was on the 11th, mine was on the 28th and we both turned 27. He bought me this gorgeous bunch of flowers and i got him some vouchers for his favourite fishing shop. Even after 6 months of being together, we were still learning about what each other liked so we didn't go mad with presents. But having birthdays within a couple of weeks of your other half is majorly useful.

I also started my new job in June at MITIE which is a cleaning and environmental services company. I can't go into too much detail about what i do because i am contracted to work for The Police but let's just say, it's a pretty grim job and you need a strong stomach to do it. But i enjoy it because i am out and about everyday and not stuck in a building from 9-5.

June was also the month when i became an official Fishing Widow. Carl is fanatical about fishing, i knew this when we first got together but throughout the year, i began to realise just how dedicated he was to it. He went to Northampton with his friends for 3 days of fishing and i missed him massively. Even though we promised we would never be apart from each other again, i had to make a compromise because fishing is a massive part of his life. He actually did pretty well and i knew from then on that he would be going away throughout the fishing season more regularly. I can't stand it and find it boring as hell but he's really good at what he does and he's really focusing on his fishing in 2014 and hoping to take it to the next level with sponsorships and YouTube videos...watch this space!

July

My little girl left year 5 and began her summer holidays. At this point i was struggling to come to terms with the fact that Sarah would be doing her SAT tests the following year. She's growing too quick!

It was the christening of Carl's niece and nephew this month and it was the first big family event i had been part of with regards to his family. It was a really nice day and it was nice to be a part of it. Thankfully the kids were well behaved, but Grace did kick off when the water was put on her...don't blame her, i wouldn't be too thrilled either.

August

In August, we travelled down to Devon to spend the weekend with our friends and their daughter Holly. It was the first time Carl had met them and it was the first we had met Holly. They live in this little cottage in the middle of nowhere and it's the kind of place where no one can hear you scream lol. It's very remote and there is no phone signal whatsoever ( This pissed Carl off because he loves checking Sky News ). It was a nice weekend away and me and Carl managed to steal some time away on our own and go to the local pub and play pool. Holly is amazing and she really took to Carl and Sarah.

September

My room was a very pale pink and seeing as me and Carl were now sharing the same bedroom, we knew we had to make it a room ' for both of us '. Our bedroom is the biggest in the house and it took so much work. We stripped all the walls, lined them with backing paper, painted them then did a feature wall aswell as all the glossing and accessories. We went for a New York theme with a New York theme wall which has different pictures of places in NY. The walls are a very pale stone grey colour and we have white, black and silver accessories. Even though it may sound quite a boyish room, i have added girly touches with candles and a large wicker heart aswell as fairy lights. We both said it was like a fresh start and it really was...even though we were bloody knackered afterwards. Carl did an amazing job with all the papering, it wouldn't look as good as it does if it wasn't for his hard work.

Sarah started year 6 this month and it was a massive transition for all of us. Year 6 is the year before she will move up to secondary/high school and she has her SATS to concentrate on. Thankfully she has a really nice teacher this year unlike the one she had in year 5 who was this horrible Dickensian style teacher who quite clearly hated children. She loves year 6, i don't think she wants to leave!

October

One rule in my house is that when one room gets decorated, the others quickly follow suit and this year it was no exception. Sarah's room had been pink and yellow for years and it was time for a change. Now she is 10, she wanted a grown up bedroom and that's what she got. We paid a bollock for hardwood flooring but when she had carpet, she covered it in nail varnish, paint and crayons so it was sensible to get her a floor we could actually clean. When her room was finished, she said it was like being at the beach...success!

November

5th November 2013...the day i had been dreading for months because it was the release date of the new Call Of Duty. I love CoD myself but i prefer the Black Ops version. This one however is Modern Warfare and Carl warned me that for the next few months he would become a recluse playing it..he wasn't wrong. He queued up the night before until midnight so he could buy it and get some freebies and like he said, i barely saw him for the next few days. Every night he is on it without fail playing with his friends, at least he's quiet.

December

December didn't get off to a good start for me. My mum fell ill and was taken to hospital and it was quite serious. I won't go into detail but it was connected to her type 2 diabetes. It was a really frightening time for us all and we were hoping she would be ok and well enough to get out for Christmas. Thankfully she was and she is now on proper medication and has made a full recovery.

On 13th December, Carl and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary. We are definitely one of those couples that feel like we have been together for alot longer and Carl has said that he wishes we had met sooner ( he can be a soppy sod when the time is right ). We went out for a nice meal at the place where we first met and it was really sentimental to be there again. Because it was so close to Christmas we didn't go mad with presents but he got me these gorgeous flowers and some chocolate and i got him a little plaque and a huge block of chocolate too. We always involve chocolate in our presents somehow Haha.

Christmas was great this year. It was mine and Carl's first proper Christmas together because last year, we had only just become a couple so it was all a bit too quick but we really made up for it this time. We were all spoilt rotten and the Christmas dinner was a delicious success and no burnt veg in sight ( 2 years ago i had a major hangover and managed to burn the swede..wh00ps )

On Christmas Day evening, we went to Carl's parents house where i got even more presents and Sarah was spoilt even more. I also met Carl's other grandparents for the first time which was really nice. Carl's dad Chris got a remote control helicopter for Christmas and after we figured out how to make it work, he managed to get it flying and smash a glass bauble. Quite a skill.

Something else we also came back with apart from presents was a nasty stomach bug from Carl's sister Sam. First Sarah came down with it, then Carl then my mum and thankfully they are all better now and only seemed to last 24 hours but for some crazy yet brilliant reason, i haven't had it so i have been looking after everyone and making sure everyone had a drink and plenty of toilet roll. Felt like Florence Nightingale!

So that has been my year! I still have New Year to come but i will be doing a seperate post on that and i will also be doing a Christmas and Sales haul too.

I hope everyones year has been a memorable one and i hope that you all have a very happy New Year

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas too all my followers on Bloglovin and Blogger!!

I know it's very late coming but since 8am, it has been none stop. I have been really spoilt by my family and Carl has really surprised me with all my presents. It's our first proper Christmas together because we became boyfriend and girlfriend on 13th December 2012 so it was a bit too premature for us but this year, we woke up together and opened gifts together and with my mum and Sarah it was perfect.

I plan to do a huge blog post in the next couple of days about Christmas and when my brother and sister visit and i have also decided that doing a Christmas haul is the perfect 1st video for my YouTube channel. I have really struggled in finding the confidence to make my first video but what better time to do it than at Christmas! I'm very excited to start this new chapter in my life and i'm taking all of you with me.

I hope you've all had an absolutely fantastic day and i look forward to reading everyones festive blogs

BarryM Glamour Puss Eye & Cheek Palette Review

The name BarryM just screams nail varnish but the make up element of the brand does get overlooked more often than not. When i bought a little haul a month or so ago on their website, i had a look at the make up on offer and decided to try out their palette.

And i regret wasting my money. Oh BarryM you dissapoint me so. I had really high expectations for this palette because with it being quite a big brand, i expected the eyeshadows to be seriously vibrant and pigmented. Oh how wrong i was.

So sad :(

I don't exagerate about many things in life but this is by far some of the worst eyeshadows i have ever seen. There is so little pigment in them that you would have to mix it up with water so you could shovel it on in an attempt to get some kind of coverage. These swatches were made with 7...yes 7 layers of each colour which is not impressive at all. The only good things about this palette are the blush which is subtle and a nice colour ( two necessary factors to a good blusher ) and the brush that came with it.

I know that BarryM will never match up to the likes of Urban Decay with their naked palettes but come on, they should know their stuff by now and know the make up market surely?

I've given this palette to my 10 year old daughter so she can play about with it because this really isn't suitable for me. I know it was fairly cheap at £6.49 but even with it being limited edition, i'm really not overly enthusiastic about this purchase at all.

If you like what you see then you can buy it here but personally, i'd recommend you save your money and buy some nail varnish instead. Sorry BarryM

Bomb Cosmetics..A rival for Lush?

Hey!

I think the majority of women out there know about Lush and the amazing bath products they make. I've been partial to nipping into the Lush shop in my local town centre and buying one or two but my god they're expensive in there. Yeah you get alot for your money but there's no satisfaction in coming out of Lush with only a couple of bath bombs because they all smell so good! But that will never be a problem for me again because i've now found a rival in the form of Bomb Cosmetics.

I came across this company after watching a haul video from Fleur De Force where she bought a box of six from the Clothes Show Live in Birmingham. I wasn't on a mission to buy anything the night i watched it but curiosity got the better of me and i wandered over to their site. Within half an hour i was £48.00 lighter after purchasing this little lot.

The Bath Bombs

Oh just look at them !! I will say they're not as vibrant in colour or as big as Lush bath bombs but i think they look so much prettier and exciting and my god do they smell good too! Seriously when the box arrived, i put it in the front room and Carl came in and said ' Oh my god i can smell them already '  and i hadn't even opened it! If i was to sit here and describe the smell of each one i'd be here all day so here's a list of their names and prices.

( From Left to Right on photo )

1. Passion fruit dream bath blaster £1.74
2. Azure skies blaster £1.91
3. Knickerbocker glory whoopie blaster £2.49
4. Starlight blaster £1.91
5. In the mood blaster £1.91
6. Pink rhubarb princess whoopie blaster Free ( Order over a certain amount )
7. Fresh berry blaster ( As above )
8. Chilly Willy blaster £1.91
9. Hypnobath £1.91
10. Cherry bathe-well bath blaster £1.91

I also got Oh Xmas tree ( £1.91 ) which is shaped like a christmas tree and smells strongly of cloves but i really didn't like it so i haven't put it on here ( cloves make me think of the dentist and make me feel sick )

Also because my order was really late, they sent me 3 little bath blasters as a way to say sorry but these are all wrapped up and i didn't want to open them as i'll give them as presents.

Out of all of them, the pink rhubarb princess is my favourite. It's a really pretty colour and smells of rhubarb and custard sweets which is a firm favourite of mine and Carls.

Je T'aime gift pack Freebie

I got this free with my order because i spent over £40 and i'm really chuffed with it. It contains 5 seperate pieces including three bath bombs and two soaps. It's wrapped so nicely that i don't want to open it! The package itself is quite big so it's really not bad for a freebie. Unfortunately i don't know how much it costs outright but i'm sure the website will let you know.

The Candles

I couldn't help myself. If i see somewhere that sells candles, i have to take a look and see what's on offer and once again, Bomb Cosmetics didn't dissapoint.

First off we have the Candy Cane Candle £6.66. This smells amazing! It says on the tin ' Delicious candy canes scents with notes of sweetened caramel and vanilla with pure frankincense and cinnamon essential oils '....they're not kidding because it really does smell of all of the above. Also, i've never seen a candle that has little additional wax pieces in them, very cute and lovely little touch.

Next up is Pixie Twinkle Mad Hatters Tea Candle £7.49. As a massive Alice in Wonderland fan, this candle is right up my street and i had to have it the minute i clocked it. It's inside a plain white tea cup with a seperate saucer and it's just beautiful. Buried inside the wax is a heart ( which unfortunately snapped in transit ) and a little heart..again it's something i've never seen in a candle and it's decorated with gold glitter. This to me smells of sherbert, it's sweet but not sickly and the name Pixie Twinkle is so apt for what it is. I also love the fact that when the candle is used up, i will have a decorated little teacup to put all my rings in which is something i have been after for quite some time but never found the right one.

On reflection, i have to say that i am definitely a convert from Lush to Bomb Cosmetics. The prices are fantastic, the range is extensive and exciting and you get so many freebies! Plus when you spend over £25 you get free delivery, come on that's just a massive bonus!

As i mentioned above, i was sent a couple of freebies for the delay in my delivery. I was not the only person who's order was delayed but their customer service was absolutely fantastic and they were very apologetic when i rang them and they told me that there was a problem with the online ordering system and to be fair, it's Christmas so everything is crazy manic at the minute.

I love Bomb Cosmetics and i can't wait to order from them again. Their website is www.bombcosmetics.co.uk  so if you love bath bombs i'd head over there smartish because they're amazing and soooo much better than Lush.

Christmas Dilemmas - Resolved

They say moving house, getting married and divorce are the top 3 most stressful situations a human faces. They're not wrong but what should also be up there is how Christmas can also put you on the road to a nervous breakdown.

Months of planning, the bank emptied and the imminent arrival of the dreaded mother in law can send even the most cool, calm and collected of people crazy but i have master minded the answers to all of the festive seasons dilemmas so that you can hopefully enjoy a stress free Christmas.

The Kids Won't Sleep on Christmas Eve!

I have a 10 year old daughter and that means i have had 10 years of hysteria and refusal to sleep on Christmas Eve. Well...she was quite content as a baby so let's say 9 years. Believe me i know how difficult it is to settle a child when they are excited about something especially when it comes to Christmas. The trick here is to not excite them. Sounds stupid because Christmas is about kids really and the magic that surrounds it and i'm not saying it shouldn't be filled with magical loveliness, but you have to take control. The best way to settle the kids down and ensure they get a good nights kip is to only do calming things before bed time.

Put out the mince pie and carrot for Father Christmas and the reindeer and then sit them down on the sofa with a blanket and watch a nice Christmas film with them. Make it something funny but soothing, Miracle on 34th Street for example. I can guarantee that when they are warm and snuggled up on the sofa with the film on gently in the background, they will soon doze off. Yes ok you'll have to carry them to bed but it's highly unlikely they will completely wake up when you do. Trust me it's a tried and tested method in my house.

What if i forget something?

LISTS LISTS LISTS !! I Can't emphasise this enough. Christmas is a big deal and there is a shit load of stuff that needs buying, making, cooking, wrapping etc, you're going to have a complete melt down if you don't organise yourself. When it gets to October, i sit down with a notebook and a pen and i write lists for everything. Food, presents, drinks, nibbles and the extra bits like cards, wrapping paper etc.

DON'T make one list for everything because you will get seriously confused. If you write seperate lists for each individual priority and then tick them off as and when you buy them then you are on the straight and narrow and heading for an organised festive season.

We always end up arguing on Christmas Day

Welcome to the real world. There isn't a single family out there that doesn't have some kind of row on Christmas day. But just because it's a special day, it doesn't mean it should be over exagerated because of the fact. If a row develops then stop it in it's tracks by seperating the people involved. Send one into the kitchen to help clean up and the other to lay the table. If all else fails, send them out for a walk so at least you don't have to listen to it and get yourself stressed out while you're peeling spuds.

I'm always left doing all the cooking then all the tidying up!

Then do something about it! There are the chefs of the family who absolutely insist on cooking the Christmas dinner with absolutely no help whatsoever but that doesn't mean they want to tidy up aswell. The dinner is a massive part of the day that takes up a hell of a lot of time so why shouldn't you sit down and chill afterwards and let someone else clean up? Before the big day comes around, draw up a rota for the family of who is doing what. You prepare the dinner but afterwards, one person clears the dishes, another clears the glasses, another fills the dishwasher etc etc. Some of them won't like it but come on, you have done 99% of Christmas for the buggers, you deserve something back.

Unexpected guests showing up

This happens all the time. Family and friends randomly appearing on your doorstep expecting you to be really happy to see them and thinking you should be aware of them turning up because it's Christmas. ( What a load of bollocks ). I hate people who turn up uninvited even when it's family but you have to accept that it happens and you have to be prepared.

Unless their arrival is planned, you don't have to lay on a banquet in their honour. They have turned up without an invite and shouldn't expect a lavish 6 course meal waiting for them. My strict policy on uninvited guests is nibbles or nothing. Always keep a stash of peanuts, crisps, olives, cold meats and 10 minute oven platters for such occasions. Aslong as you have alcohol flowing and something in a bowl on the table, everyone will be happy. If guests come round expecting a full meal, tell them to book themselves in for next Christmas and sod off.

I hope these little dilemma solutions have given you a little helping hand for the festive season. And remember...

DON'T PANIC, IT'S ONLY ONE DAY!

OZ called, Dorothy wants her nail varnish back

Hey!

If anyone else got the December Glossybox then you will be familiar with the nail varnish i'm about to talk about. It's this...

This is from a brand called Seche. I've never heard of it before i received it in my Glossybox so i have no idea if it's new or popular in another country maybe? Anyway it's in the colour Bella and it is a deep scarlet shade with a very slight shimmer. I personally have never been a huge fan of red nail varnish, if i'm honest i think it's a little bit tarty but that really is personal taste...not to say anyone who wears it is a tart lol.

Hmmmmm yeah i'll be honest i really don't like this. It's a very Christmas esque colour but it's definitely not for me. As much as i'm impressed by the one coat coverage, it does chip like crazy. I've had a pretty lazy day but the majority of it has started to chip away from the nail tip and all i've done is put the washing on.

I think the retail for this is £6. If i saw this in a shop i wouldn't pay that amount for it and i would stay away from the colour. Shame really...i needed a nice Christmas colour for my nails too.

Barry M Haul ( Nails )

Hey!

I've never really invested in anything from Barry M before. I think i may have some random eyeshadow somewhere but apart from that, i have never really classed them as one of my go to brands. Because of this, i decided to have a little splurge and try some of their highly acclaimed nail varnishes.

From L to R - Vivid Purple, Matt White, Nail Affects ( Black ), Cobalt Blue, Matt Nail Paint ( Espresso )
Vivid Purple

Matt White

Nail Affects ( Black ) on top of Matt White ( Above )

Cobalt Blue

Matt Nail Paint ( Espresso )
I have to admit i love all of these colours. When you buy things like nail varnish online, you never know if the colours you see on the site are what they will be in person but these definitely are. I have heard so many things about nail crackles in the past and i found it hard to believe they worked but i was seriously impressed and found watching the crackle take affect really quite exciting...god i'm sad! I especially love the Matt nail paint. It's like you've gone back to school where you used to colour in your nails with felt tips, it has a Matt feel to it aswell as appearance which i love.

I bought all of these from the Barry M Website and at the time they were on 3 for 2 and i think in total i spent about £14 which is very reasonable.

What's your favourite nail varnish? Is yours from Barry M too?

December Miss Glossybox Opening & Review

Hey!

I boarded the Glossybox train a couple of weeks ago and i was seriously excited when my December Glossybox was handed to me this morning. I love the fact that you don't know what to expect inside and plus i heard you can get some quite high end/pricey products and for only £10 a month, you can't really complain!

Sooooooo let's open this little box of secrets shall we?

** I must apologise for the absolutely shite lighting. I took the photo's really quickly before i went to work and haven't had chance to edit them. Lesson learnt **

REALLY loving the packaging...good job Glossybox, good job

Sweet!

Right then, let's see what's inside....Drum roll please.....

So...? Sinful Body Spray

Item 1 - So...? Sinful body spray - My very first Glossybox hasn't started well. I have come across this brand before i never like it. My friend once bought me a gift set of these body sprays and ( i'm really sorry to say this Norms ) but i threw them away because they all smelt awful and this one is no exception. It's way too floral and overpowering, it smells cheap and generic. Really not a fan and it's going straight in the bin. Yuk.

Little Mix Nail Wraps ( Jade )

Item 2 - Little Mix Nail Wraps ( Jade ) - Ooooo well things are improving! I didn't know Little Mix had brought out their own nail wraps..now i do. I'm a big nails fan and i love a good nail wrap, these are so cute! On the back, Jade has given a little description about why she chose the design ( hearts, braces and bowties ) and how she loves the tuxedo manicure..nice touch. These are really nice and my daughter is a massive Little Mix fan so she swiped them as soon as she saw them.

Lacoste Touch Of Pink perfume sample
Item 3 - Lacoste Touch Of Pink perfume sample - I'm really chuffed about this because i used to have a bottle of this a few years ago and i was that obsessed with it that when i finished it, i would carry it around with me in my bag so i could smell it. Weirdo. Still like the smell after all this time and as expected, my daughter liked it too and it's now hers. Will anything of this box be mine?

Jelly pong pong 2 in 1

Item 4 - Jelly pong pong 2 in 1 Eyeliner & Shadow - Well this is new! I've never seen this brand? If it's a brand or this product before. It doesn't have a name for the colour but it is a sort of chocolatey brown. It's quite small, not what you would expect for an eye pencil but let me tell you, this little pencil is pigmented within an inch of it's life! ( See swatch below ). Generally, products that claim to serve 2 purposes never do but after swatching this, i can safely say that this does what it says on it's little paper casing. Lovely little product.

Swatch of the Jelly pong pong 2 in 1 pencil. Look how pigmented it is!

Dermalogica Foaming Wash
Item 5 - Dermalogica Breakout clearing Foaming Wash - OH MY GOD I JUST WET MYSELF! Ok slightly exagerating and overreacting but what an end to the bag of goodies! Dermalogica! I have the worst dry skin in the world and unfortunately when it's my time of the month ( sorry if TMI ) i get the most horrendous spots. There is no product on the market that sorts both out at the same time but this looks like the answer to my prayers. I have heard so much about Dermalogica but i've also seen their prices and they're ridiculous but when your skin is as bad as mine is, you can be desperate enough to pay stupid prices to fix your problems. Thanks to Glossybox i don't have to HOORAH! I can't wait to try this stuff out, seriously thrilled and it will be getting it's very own review and blog post in the near future oh yes.

So overall for my first Glossybox i'm quite impressed! Liking 4 out of 5 items isn't bad, it's a lucky dip at the end of the day and as i said before, you can't go wrong when you pay £10 for products that are worth at least £50+. Looking forward to the next one now.

I'M BACK !! SHOP REOPENED AND BLOGMAS

Hi everyone!

So nice to be back to my blogging. I have had literally the hardest most draining week since last tuesday when all the problems started.

As i stated in my previous post about having to 'close shop', my mum had fallen ill and it turned out to be alot more serious than a suspected stomach bug. Let's just say an ambulance, drips and a week in hospital eminated from it. She was extremely ill and i was very very worried for her as were my brother and sister but she is now out of hospital and recovering at home. I'm not going to go into a lot of detail about why she was in hospital as it is a private matter but it was a scary time for all of us. Welcome home mum!

Like i said, it's really nice to be back blogging again. I've been checking in on Bloglovin and having a look at some of my favourite blogs, one of the few things that has got me through the past week.

I have so many blog posts planned that i actually filled up my Pukka Pad with lists, notes and samples. I'm doing a little shopping tonight while my daughter is at the pantomime with school so i'll pick up a new notebook and fill that up aswell! So many reviews coming up, i can't wait.

Closing shop temporarily, family issues

Hey everyone. This is going to be a little blog post to tell you why i have to close shop as it were.

For the past couple of days, my mum hasn't been very well and as she is in a wheelchair with type 2 diabetes, it's making things a little more difficult.

I have decided to take time off work to stay at home with her as Carl is out all day at work and my brother and sister both live out of the city so i am pretty much the only person who can be around for her.

Also, because i will be having to dedicate my time to looking after my mum aswell as my family, i won't have time to do any blogging or even do blogmas and i'm really upset about it because i love this blog and doing blogmas was a really exciting prospect but as it stands, my mum is alot more important to me right now.

I will be returning to blogging as soon as she has a clean bill of health which i'm hoping will only be a couple of days or so.

Blogmas: Day 1

IT'S HERE! 1st December..Pinch Punch First Of The Month. ARGHHHHHH CHRISTMAS!!!

Ok Kate calm the f*@k down woman, breathe...

Right hello everyone, it's Blogmas Day 1! It truelly was like someone sprinkled me with magical christmas glitter when i woke up this morning because unlike every other day, i woke with a smile on my face and was a little bit too keen to open my Malteser advent calender, much to Carl's annoyance because he was looking forward to a lie in..oooops.

So with the 1st December, comes the extensive list of jobs that need to be done before Christmas day so our first port of call was the local recycling centre or ' The Tip ' to get rid of the old carpet out of our Sarah's room.

< --- It seems everyone had the same idea because the place was packed! Oh god look how dirty the window is :(

<---- This made the car absolutely stink of fust because it's been outside in the rain and god knows what else for nearly a month. Yuk

After the trip to the tip ( we all love a little unplanned rhyme ), myself and Carl had to go do some shopping.

First of our destinations was Iceland to go and have a look for Christmas food. I usually leave Iceland dissapointed around December because all the stuff they advertise on the TV usually sells out within days but i was really chuffed to find chocolate cherry cups and a Pina Colada dome mmmmmm.

Our next port of call was a local shopping park. Carl went to take some trousers back while i ( on my mums orders ) went into Marks & Spencer to spend £20 worth of vouchers. I hate M&S i feel completely out of place in there and feel like i'm being watched but oh my god they have some nice stuff in there this year...

Once i found some party food, i realised i still had money left over so i went over to the seasonal section and saw that they were doing 3 for 2 on selected items. I ended up buying these...

<--- This is for Sarah. It's 3 tins each containing a different treat. The large bottom tin has a massive bag of chocolate buttons, the middle has popcorn and the top had an Aero type Father Christmas. So festive and i love the packaging.

<--- This for Carl because he loves white chocolate, he loves humorous food and he always has some kind of facial hair going on. Needless to say he enjoyed it and it didn't touch the sides

<--- And this for myself. It is a little sack filled with toffee popcorn covered in white chocolate and cinnamon. Not tried it yet but it sounds amazing!

He's so happy it's nearly Christmas, he just won't admit it :)

After a quick trip to Morrisons to pick up some essentials, we got home and Carl made bacon butties for lunch. He's a good un really.

My boyfriend makes the best bacon butties. Fact

For the rest of the day, we all chilled out and did very little. Carl played on CoD ( of course ), myself and my mum watched a shit load of Nigella christmas programmes and Sarah played on the laptop. Nice relaxed sundays are the best.

Carl offered to make tea too which was awesome. We had drummers, sticky chicken skewers and wedges..soooo good. He's being so nice today, wonder what he's after lol.

Foot note : I really wanted to do Vlogmas but i'm not confident enough to film yet but i'm confident that come next christmas i will be vlogmassing like a pro and having a regular channel on Youtube :)
