Room 101

This post is based on the fantastic programme Room 101. I've you've never watched or heard of it you're missing out. Basically a celebrity comes onto the show with an array of things that really annoy them and it could be anything from traffic to boiled eggs, the list is endless and if the presenter ( i believe it to be Frank Skinner these days ) agrees with said celebrity, he will put it into Room 101.

I suddenly came up with idea of doing this whilst eating my tea last night and i'm really excited because i love a good rant. I'll be doing this post sporadically because there is always something new that gets under my skin and i can't wait to get it off my chest!

Driving way under the speed limit

Oh god this drives me mad (pardon the pun). I know speed limits are there for a reason and when it says 40 or 50 etc that is a maximum not a minimum but that does not mean you should drive 10mph or more under said speed limit! And this especially goes for the elderly. They are terrified of driving so why in the name of all that is sane do they jump in the car everyday?Plus it's bloody dangerous!

Clicking fingers

The noise that eminates from someone clicking their fingers repulses me. It's just not natural! That advert for the catalogue where the woman clicks her fingers to change into another outfit? I can't watch it for that simple reason. Just...stop doing it!

Kim Kardashian

I have no idea what this woman is for or why she is so damn 'famous'. Wow she made a sex tape...she became a star from that? Really?! She is hard faced and serves absolutely no purpose whatsoever. She struts around in the most ridiculous of outfits and thinks she is a trend setter? Reality check sweetheart, you look like you raided the discount wallpaper shelf at Homebase. Someone put her away in a cupboard or something.

Cloves

This spice should NEVER have been discovered. I once used oil of cloves when i had toothache and the taste made me physically sick. The smell of it turns my stomach. Carl bought a magic tree air freshener in 'New Car' and it absolutely stunk of clove. BORK! Horrible stuff.

So that's my first Room 101 post. Do you agree with anything i've put here? Is there anything you would put into Room 101 yourself? Let me know, it's good to rant!!

My Shoe Collection || Favourite Pairs

It's no secret that shoes are a bloody big obsession for me, well, shoes and food...i love food.

I've built up quite a good shoe collection since my obsession developed, it's nowhere near as extensive as i would like it to be simply because 1. I can't afford it and 2. Because i share my bedroom with Carl, i just don't have the space. But here are my absolute favourite pairs and i'll do a post on my 'old faithfuls' which will include shoes that have withstood the test of time and the shoes i return to again and again another day.

Can you see a pattern developing? I definitely prefer closed toe shoes. I'm not mad on peep toe unless the shoes themselves are incredible, like the ones from Select (above). I have always loved the Mary Jane style of shoe and the shoe boot is a common sight in my wardrobe because they're so damn versatile!

The converse on the other hand are my pride and joy. These are custom designed by myself and were worth every penny of the £70 price tag. Carl got me these for Christmas and i've only worn them twice because i hate the thought of them getting ruined. On the side is Harley Quinn from Batman and the rear strip of the shoe has my name stitched into it. I  designed every aspect of the trainers and i absolutely love them!

Also you will see i have a couple of pairs from Ebay. Don't be too quick to judge Ebay and buying shoes. These little beauty's were £20 per pair and aren't they just amazing?! The purple suede shoe boots with the skulls are simply stunning..Shoe love all round!

Be Still My Beating...Shoes?

Spring may be here but i spend a whole lot of time waiting for summer to arrive because not only do i look forward to the blazing sunshine (hopefully) and the BBQs, but i get to have a good nosey at what is on offer in the shoe world because frankly, summer footwear is the best footwear.

New Look, i'm loyal to them and their amazing shoes and have been for many years. Once again they haven't dissapointed me and i have found an amazing selection of sandals that i personally love and want to share with you all.

1. T bar sandals (Various Colours) £7.99 Buy Here
2. White leather strappy cut out T bar sandals £15.99 Buy Here
3. Navy cross strap peeptoe platforms £29.99 Buy Here
4. Strappy peeptoe heels £24.99 Buy Here
5. Strappy T bar cork wedges £19.99 Buy Here
6. Contrast palm tree print wedges £27.99 Buy Here
7. Crochet strap cork platforms £29.99 Buy Here
8. Contrast floral print wedges £27.99 Buy Here
9. Strappy block heel wooden platforms £24.99 Buy Here

New Look have really outdone themselves this year with regards to sandals. I particularly love the floral print wedges and cross strap peeptoes. The block heel is also quite popular at the minute too which is great for us clumsy buggers who look like a deer on ice when wearing stilhetto heels.

Bring on Summer!

Optrex 2 in 1 Actimist Eye Spray || Review

Combining hayfever and having 4:30am starts with work, not to mention going to areas that are heavy with industrial pollution, my eyes have been suffering a hell of a lot lately. They've been feeling sore and heavy and it got to the point where i needed to head to my nearest boots and find something to relieve them. This is what i found..

I know this stuff has been around for a while but i always thought it was only for people who wear contact lenses, i wear glasses so hmmm yeah pointless maybe? I was wrong. As soon as i bought this i used it and it was instant relief literally within seconds.

Unlike eyedrops, you close your eye and spray it directly onto the eyelid and it slips down and repairs the eyes outer layer. Magic? I reckon so because when i say this stuff was instant, i really mean it. As soon as i applied it, the soreness in my eyes was gone and as weird as it sounds, they felt refreshed!

Additionally just to add to the fact that this stuff works in seconds, it doesn't sting on application (providing you read the instructions properly) and it's stupidly easy to apply. I have used proper eye drops in the past and it used to take me forever to put them in because the thought of doing anything with my eyes made me gag but this eye mist is simple to use and it feels like you're spraying water onto your eyelids. Could you ask for more? Doubt it.

At a price of £12.99 it may seem very expensive for what it is but let me explain. It says on the instructions to spray once or twice per eye depending on how irritated they are. I've been using this stuff twice maybe three times a day for the past two weeks and the amount of solution in the bottle has barely moved. You definitely get a lot more for your money than at first glance and if you work infront of a computer, drive everyday or work in an environment with polluted air, i would highly recommend it.

Story Of My Life Tag

Time for another Tag! This one is a little different so enjoy!...

1. Where & when were you born?

I was born on 28th June 1986 ( I think it was a saturday ) at Beverley Westwood Hospital in Beverley, Yorkshire. Oooo very detailed answer Kate

2. Who chose your name(s) and the reason behind them?

Well it was obviously my parents who chose my name but they did have some outside influence. Katy comes from the character in the book 'What Katy Did' by  Sarah Chauncey Woolsey and my middle name Sarah came from my uncle Frank who said that if he had a daughter he would call her Sarah, he had 2 sons so my mum gave me it as a middle name to make up for it.

3. Your earliest childhood memory

The memory that sticks out to me was from when i was around 3/4 years old. My mum and dad bought me this amazing sailor style dress and i was absolutely obsessed with it. When my dad wanted to take me to watch football, i refused to get changed out of it and i had a full on tantrum on the stairs until i got my own way. Awesome

4. What were your hobbies as a child?

I did dancing, rainbows & brownies. I was dancing up until i was 15 and i miss it alot.

5. Do you have any siblings?

Yep i have an older sister called Vicky & an older brother called Jonny....because there is a big age gap between us, we have NEVER argued or fallen out. Blessing really

6. Funny story as a child?

Near where i grew up, there is a little 10 foot ( Hull term for an alley way ) that would cut from my street to my school and it was real dark and dingy with trees that grew over it like an arch way. One day my mum was walking me to school and as we walked down the 10 foot, i started saying 'Lions & Tigers & Bears OH MY!' from Wizard of OZ and then out of nowhere this massive cat jumped off the fence and came darting straight past me. I absolutely freaked out and my mum was in hysterics while trying to comfort me. It's funny looking back on it but at the time i shit myself!

7. Did you do well at school?

In all honesty no i didn't. I excelled in English & French and would often get told off by my french teacher because i was already fluent in the language and she didn't like being upstaged by a teenager. But i rebelled and i twagged off school for 2 weeks and stayed at home on the internet. When i got caught, i had the truancy officer on my case for the next 2 years until i left. I did ok in my GCSEs but if i could re-write my school years i would, it was a massive mistake.

8. Your teenage celebrity crush?

This is easy.  Scott from 5ive and Leonardo Dicaprio.

9. Your favourite song of all time?

This is really hard to answer as there are so many but the song that sticks with me is Dr Hook - Cover of the rolling stone. My dad had the most appauling taste in music but this song reminds me alot of him as he used to play it in the car when we went swimming and out as a family. Some nice memories come with it.

10. Favourite moment of your life?

Simple...the birth of my daughter Sarah. I'm lucky to have had an amazing life so far with some fantastic moments but giving birth to Sarah was truely the best moment for me. Additionally, the second best was meeting Carl. He's my soulmate

11. Favourite family memory?

A family friend who used to work with my grandad owning a chain of supermarkets called Grandways was going on holiday with his family and he asked if our family would like to go spend the week house sitting at their mansion in Bristol. There was me, my parents ( bro and sis were at uni ), my auntie & uncle, my 2 cousins  & my grandparents. To me the house was absolutely huge with a pool, a games room, loads of bedrooms it was just amazing. We had the best week there and it holds a lot of memories. Especially going swimming at night that was pretty cool and filling the jacuzzi with bubble bath...yeah it was a mess.

12. Have you fulfilled your dreams & ambitions?

In a way i think i have. I wanted to be a counsellor, i now am. I wanted children, i have 1 and trying for more. I wanted to meet the man i would marry and spend my life with, i found him and i'm VERY happy. There are still things on my list but i'm doing quite well seeing as i'm only 27

13. What are your dreams for the future?

Expand my family and marry Carl are the priorities for me right now. Then i want to jack in my job and either return to counselling or work for myself either with my blog or another avenue where i can be self employed.

Not going to tag anyone specific in this post, if you like the look of the questions then feel free to do the tag yourself. I look forward to reading your life story's :)

Iphone Photo Album || March Edition

* BANG * What was that? Oh that was January & February whizzing by.

Seriously, the years have been zooming by recently, maybe it's because i'm getting old? Or i'm just too bloody busy to notice otherwise. Either way, it's time for the March edition of the Iphone Photo Album. March seems to be very much food orientated, good job i didn't decide to give anything up for lent!

Mmmmm Food!
