Birchbox Vs Glossybox

Beauty boxes have really come into their own recently, around every corner there is another company trying to outdo the last and these two have to be the top contenders.

I've been ordering a Birchbox & Glossybox monthly since November 2013 and i have to say that the difference between the contents is quite astonishing considering i pay roughly the same price for both of them. Firstly, i'll start with the Birchbox

Benefit Stay Don't Stray
Dr. Brandt Pores No More Pore Refiner
Korres Citrus Body Milk
Molton Brown Rhubarb & Rose Replenishing Hand Cream
English Laundry No.7 For Her
Candy Rock

Birchbox have done a collaboration with the amazing Lulu Guiness for this months box. Her pick for the box was the Benefit Stay Don't Stray and the stick of rock is the inspiration behind her Spring/Summer 2014 collection ( the whole retro sweet shop thing ).

I absolutely love the contents in the Birchbox. The English Laundry perfume sampler smells incredible and i have my eye on buying a full bottle in the near future. The Benefit Stay Don't Stray does what it says on the tin which is a pleasant surprise as i've not been overly impressed by some of their recent products ( mainly the porefessional ).

The only thing i'm not crazy about is the hand cream. Don't get me wrong, it smells lovely and i'm sure it's perfect for someone else but it's just not for me simply because i am not a massive fan of hand cream!

Now for the Glossybox....

 Mitchell & Peach Body Cream
Couture La La Malibu
Bellapierre Loose Shimmer Eyeshadow
Juicy Couture Malibu
Dove 60 Second Repair Serum

Oh dear dear dear. You can see that the Glossybox is not up to the same standard as Birchbox and it's such a shame. The 2 perfume samples are the only good thing about the whole box as i love Juicy Couture fragrances but the body cream smells awful and when i check the consistency against my skin it just felt...wrong! I'll be giving the Dove repair serum a go but everything else will be going in the bin, especially this loose eyeshadow. I don't like shimmer at the best of the times but the swatch for this is shocking, it took 5 rubs on my hand to get even a glimpse of the colour.

So in conclusion, i have to say that Birchbox has won the beauty box battles. I have cancelled my Glossybox subscription, i don't see the point in spending the same amount ( £12.95 incl P&P ) for less items of lesser quality. But if you like the contents of the Glossybox, you can order it from here. But better yet, you can order the Birchbox from here.

And the winner is

BIRCHBOX
