Payday Wishlist

For once in my life, i am finally in a job where i get a salary. Ok, excluding all the counselling i ever did. But it's nice to have some money left over after bills to treat myself, an experience that i have never really had the pleasure of enjoying before.

I really want to buy the Gavin & Stacey DVD boxset. Me & Carl have become obsessed with it and i have such a laugh pretending to be Nessa with my friend Sophie at work. It's one of those series that you could watch over and over again and still laugh everytime but also laugh at bits you maybe missed before. It's no great shock that all bloggers need a good camera and i have two very good ones but i am desperate to get my hands on a Canon 700D. After having a play with one at Hull Fashion Week, i've grown a little addicted to it. Like i said, i love my Canon & Samsung cameras, but this would change my photography skills no end. And finally, this stunning Star Pandora Ring. I have never been fond of the charm bracelets from Pandora but the rings are something else. Everyone knows i am crazy about stars and this ring literally screamed at me saying 'BUY ME BUY ME NOW!' And i definitely plan to.

Zoella & Alfie Getting A Waxwork // My Opinion

In the last 24 hours, it was announced by the tabloids and by Zoe & Alfie themselves, that they are to be immortalised in wax at Madame Tussauds. I let out a big sigh when i heard this and started to question life.

I'm not a person who begrudges others success, if anything i completely encourage it and have a lot of respect for individuals who have made a name for themselves but there comes a time when it goes too far and i have to stand back and ask myself, Why?

I've never been to Madame Tussauds myself but i have been informed that there is a suggestion box at the end of the tour where you can recommend a famous person to have their wax work made. I can imagine there have been all sorts of suggestions but when i read that Zoe & Alfies names were put in more than most, i couldn't help but wonder. Has this YouTube fame gone too far?

Like i said, i don't begrudge anyone their success but there are so many more deserving people who have contributed to our society and been a massive part of our lives than a couple of young adults who make videos. Legends like the late Rik Mayall who was a massive part of my life growing up and had millions of people laughing. Hugh Laurie who is a comedic genius. Percy Sledge, a Soul legend..i could go on. Zoe & Alfie have a fan base granted but is their fame worthy of such an honour? Personally i don't think so. In my opinion, neither of them have contributed to British society. Sure they go on about charity and such but what have they really done? Talked about anxiety? I do that in my job, am i being turned into a life sized barbie? Am i hell! Done pranks on people? We were all kids once, does the public have their photos taken with us? Afraid not.

My point here is that although Zoe & Alfie have some celebrity status, i don't believe they should be at Madame Tussauds. Their audience age range is teenager/young adult; there are going to be thousands of adults and even children/teenagers who go to Madame Tussauds and not have a clue who these two people are! But then they will turn the corner and instantly recognise true celebrities and icons such as Marilyn Monroe & The Queen.

Madame Tussauds...save your wax for another day

Tenerife 2015 Part 2 - Loro Parque

I won't lie when i tell you that one of the biggest reasons we were looking forward to the holiday was the opportunity to sit about in the sunshine all day but we were also really excited about going to two of the main attractions in Tenerife; Loro Parque & Siam park.

Firstly, Loro Parque. Loro Parque is an incredible Animal park but it's like no place i've ever been to. This wasn't like a zoo, it was a genuine park where the animals either roamed freely or were in absolutely massive enclosures. I don't agree with animals being kept in Zoo's but this place was very different. The amount of space that they had was phenomenal and like i said, alot of the animals were roaming freely, including the Tree Top part where birds were literally flying around your head or sitting on railings. But one of the most incredible opportunities we had, was to watch the live shows of the Orca Whales, Sea Lions & Dolphins. All 3 of us were completely blown away by the skills that these amazing creatures have and you could tell that they were all very well cared for and loved and i really respect that.

Another photo heavy post!

Believe me when i tell you, this is only a handful of photos i took at Loro. There was just so much going on and so many gorgeous animals that needed to have their Vogue moment. The shows were incredible! Carl loved the dolphins, Sarah loved the Sea Lions & I loved the Orca's haha but in all fairness, they were all fantastic. If you ever go to Tenerife, you have to go to Loro, it's an amazing day out.

Look out for Part 3 of my holiday where i talk about Siam Park and a video mash up!
